Every year the Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club hosts Camp Quality for a day of fun on and off the water. Thanks to the dedication of our members we are able to provide an amazing day of fun on the members boats in the estuary followed by lunch and games back at the club. The Camp Quality day is part of the Family Fun Day program run by Camp Quality.
Each year in Australia, approximately 10,000 children under thirteen are; diagnosed with cancer, undergoing cancer treatment, in remission, or receiving palliative care. Sitting in the same classrooms across the country are another 10,000 children dealing with their mum or dads’ cancer. By these estimates, every day, 27 Australian children under 13 will be deeply affected by the diagnosis of a parent who has cancer.
At our club our members all dress as pirates for the day, host children and their parents on their boats and organise games including crabbing, blowie fishing competitions, water melon seed spitting competitions and treasure hunts plus much more!
Our next Camp Quality Day will be held on Sunday 15 February 2015.
