DESCRIPTION:Do you want to learn to drive a small powerboat? Would you like to man a safety boat to support your local sailing club? This program will provide you with the necessary skills for the safe use of small powerboats\, including the equipment to be carried\, knowledge of seamanship\, navigation and weather. \nAs part of the program you will have the opportunity to achieve the powerboat operators’ certificate which satisfies licensing requirements in some states of Australia. If you wish to assist in club events or desire to be an instructor\, coach or official\, then the Safety Boat Handling course is particularly beneficial. DESCRIPTION:Thursday Night Fellowship \nIts back again by popular demand. Remember the once a month Thursday evening meal and presentations of various enlightening\, even entertaining\, topics of interest. In the past these have ranged from fishing tackle through to GRIB files (GRIB files??) and on one occasion a cut away small engine. \nWell starting on Thursday December 5th it is on again. For those who haven’t previously participated or who have forgotten because its been a while\, members meet at 6 – 6:30 for a meal in the Galley Restaurant then adjourn about 7:30 to the Sundowner Bar for the evening’s enlightening presentation. \nOur first presenter will demonstrate a man over board recovery device that most of will say “why didn’t I think of that”. This topic while specifically aimed at cruising members who are often short-handed or even solo sailors\, it is of wide interest because while nobody wants to fall off their boat\, it does happen and at sea can be very difficult to get back on board. \nIn order to ensure there are tables available in the dining room for our group please text me on 0438 927 727 or send a short email to rc@mofsc.com.au . Kids don’t need to have any prior sailing experience and we will provide all the equipment.\n\n\n \n\n\nTackers involves 20 hours of participation over a series of sessions\, each child receives a Tacker kit and a certificate of achievement upon completion. Tackers instructors are young\, energetic\, love sailing and have gained Yachting Australia accreditation.\n\n\n \n\n\nAll the equipment\, including the boats\, is provided along with Yachting Australia qualified Instructors and Assistant Instructors\, Tackers Pack and on the last day a BBQ to celebrate achievements and to hand out certificates.\n\n\n \n\n\nJuniors join FREE here at MOFSC!
