DESCRIPTION:On Sunday 17 January we will be cruising across the estuary and up the Murray River for lunch at the Sandy Cove Tavern.\nA convoy will depart the club at 10.30am. You can join in at the eastern end of the Port Mandurah canals at about 10.45 or south of the By-Pass bridge near the entrance to Mariners Cover at 10.55am \nThis event is only suitable for smaller boats due to the shallow entrance to the river.  Please do your own research on whether it is suitable to take your boat. \nRegistrations are welcome if you wish attend as a passenger on someone else’s boat or if you wish to join us by land. \nBookings essential – cp@mofsc.com.au . DESCRIPTION:Do you want to learn to drive a small powerboat? Would you like to man a safety boat to support your local sailing club? This program will provide you with the necessary skills for the safe use of small powerboats\, including the equipment to be carried\, knowledge of seamanship\, navigation and weather. \nAs part of the program you will have the opportunity to achieve the powerboat operators’ certificate which satisfies licensing requirements in some states of Australia. If you wish to assist in club events or desire to be an instructor\, coach or official\, then the Safety Boat Handling course is particularly beneficial. SUMMARY:Time Trials 2018
DESCRIPTION:Time Trialling\n\n\n2018 Time Trials \nTime trialling is now in its 16th (2018) season at MOFSC\, these events are designed to get your boat out there during the winter\, but more importantly to get out there and socialise. All courses start at the first spit post past the old bridge and then run on the inland water of the estuary out to Science platform and return through the estuary to finish where the event started. Any craft capable of navigating under engine power at a speed between 5 and 15 knots may participate. \nOther Club members can be involved in time trialling as volunteers to help with the running of the events. All tasks are simple. Checkpoints are at spit posts in the Estuary with some checkpoint crews working from land whilst others are out on the water. Each team comprises a Sighter\, a Timekeeper and a Recorder. \nEvents are held on alternate Saturdays with the results announced back at the Marina Bar after the event. \nFor more information\, please visit our Time Trialling page
