On Sunday, 17 February 2019 a group of 6 boats of varying sizes headed out from the Club at 9.30 am to Becher Point. The convoy was led by Ross Davidson on Markel, following on were Alan & Natalie on Jensis Too, David & Anne on New Horizons, Peter & Julie on Quality Time, RCP Mark & Jeni on Rasa Sayang and Justin & Sarah and family on Ventura, along with a few other guests on board the boats.
We arrived at our destination and rafted up from a courtesy mooring, the kids had a swim, as did a couple of the adults. There were fish being caught off the back of one of the boats too. It was a social day with people skipping from boat to boat and we all had our own choice of food and some even had a BBQ.
After a few hours of fun in the sun the winds picked up and the decision was made to head back to the Club. It was a bit of a rough ride back but still a lot of fun.
If you haven’t joined the Power Section on one of the social events so far, please join in. The more the merrier! We’re now looking forward to the Rottnest Convoy over the March long weekend. Although there are no further rental moorings or pens available at Rottnest there is still free anchorage space in both Thompsons Bay and Geordie Bay on a first in first served basis. If you wish to join the convoy please contact RCP Mark Sach on 0409 840 812 and come along to the Skippers Briefing at 1900 hours on Thursday, 21 February 2019.
