Father’s Day Fishing Competition Report

Despite not quite perfect fishing conditions, our Father’s Day monthly fishing competition saw the best number of entries for many months and some great catches as can be seen in the photo of  Brian Edwards’ 14kg Dhufish. Dave Slater was unlucky to be pipped by Brian with another big Dhufish.

Brian also took out largest Breaksea Cod and King George Whiting to give him Champion Fisher for the day. With daughter Tayah he also cleaned up with the father / child section.

Des McLean won the largest Skippy section with his 595g fish whilst Matt Kennewell scored with a 230g whiting. Both these species were  hotly contested.

Junior Champion of the day was a very happy  Henry Sattler who was thrilled to receive his gift voucher from Getaway Outdoors.

It was great to see so many fathers and their children competing, many for the first time in a club competition and we hope to see you all again in the future!

Our Fishing Competitions are held on the first weekend of each month – the next one is on Saturday the 7th & Sunday the 8th of October. For more information visit our Fishing Information page

And if you have children aged between 6-12 years that would like to learn more about fishing basics, we have a children’s fishing clinic over the Sept/Oct school holidays, visit our Children’s Fishing Clinic page for more information.
