Aspiring sailors invited to Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club open day

If you’ve ever wanted to get on deck and find out about the joy of sailing, then this Sunday is the day for you.

Aspiring sailors, both young and old, are invited to the Discover Sailing Day taking place at the Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club along Breakwater Parade, from 11am to 4pm on November 4.

Club hosts will welcome guests and answer any questions about sailing and ensure you have an enjoyable day out with your friends or family.

“For anybody who has been putting off that dream of getting on a sailboat, we have opportunities for people of all levels of experience and time constraints,” sailing captain Neil Dixon said.

“Sailing is often seen as an expensive and exclusive sport, but sailing has been long been a part of Mandurah’s history and social fabric, and we want to celebrate that with other Mandurah people.

“This year, yachts and dinghies will also be on display at the Town Jetty, where passers-by will be encouraged to discover sailing.

“Safety and comfort are very important to the club.

“All safety gear will be provided, but anybody who wants to go for a sail in a yacht or in a dinghy, should bring a jacket, sunscreen and a hat.”
